Beth Smith is an expert in customer loyalty and data-driven direct marketing programs. She founded her direct marketing strategic consulting firm Smith Browning Direct, Inc. in 1988 and has worked with both business-to-business and consumer marketers internationally.  Beth started her career in Boston at Epsilon, the leading direct/database marketing company.  At Epsilon she held several positions over 15 years, including Creative Director, VP of Account Management, and VP of Marketing - where she was responsible for all new business sales and marketing efforts. While at Epsilon Beth led teams who won numerous regional and international awards, including direct marketing's prestigious Echo awards.

Beth Smith has helped launch the careers of over 10,000 direct marketers through her popular public and private seminars, which she has taught for 20 years.  

Beth has taught direct marketing in Europe, Canada, South Africa, Asia, and Australia in addition to the U.S.  She has been the featured speaker at numerous direct marketing meetings and conferences in the U.S., as well as in South Africa and Australia.

For the past 10 years, in addition to her consulting, Beth has been the Educational Director for two of the U.S. Direct Marketing Association's most popular seminars - the Direct Marketing Institute and the Basics of Direct Marketing Seminar.  Beth's training seminars always get top ratings from attendees because she covers essential strategies with tangible examples and tactics that can be put to work immediately.  




Just Announced: Beth is the recipient of the Direct Marketing Educational Foundation's 2009 Edward N. Mayer Award for Education Leadership. This Award is based on an individual’s lifetime contributions to the advancement of direct marketing education, including contribution of effective ideas, concepts, teaching materials or literature in the field. This award was presented at the DMA09 Annual conference in San Diego at a gala dinner on October 17, 2009.
